Fireworks on the Ohio Returns to Downtown Evansville
Downtown Evansville’s signature Independence Day celebration, Fireworks on the Ohio, returns Friday, July 4, 2025, offering an evening of family-friendly entertainment, community gathering, and one of the region’s most impressive fireworks displays. The event is presented by Bally’s Evansville and supported by Explore Evansville.
Event Details
Riverside Drive, between Court and Walnut streets, will close to traffic beginning at 6 PM to make way for the celebration. More than 25 food trucks will line the street, alongside family activities including face painting, yard games, a patriotic photo station, and a performance by the Boom Squad.
The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:15 PM and will feature a 17-minute display launched over the Ohio River.
Admission and Parking
Admission to the event is free, and parking is complimentary at several Downtown locations, including the 3rd & Locust garage, the 500 Sycamore garage, and the Back 40 lot behind the Civic Center. Street parking is also available, with relaxed enforcement for the holiday.
Know Before You Go
Attendees are welcome to bring folding chairs, blankets, small umbrellas, strollers, and service animals.

In addition to the main festivities along Riverside Drive, many Downtown shops, restaurants, and bars will remain open, providing plenty of options for dining and entertainment before or after the show.
