A Fresh Era of Play: New Features and Exhibits at the Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville

The Koch Family Children’s Museum of Evansville (cMoe) is stepping into an exciting new chapter — blending beloved traditions with all-new experiences designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection. As the museum celebrates 19 years of purposeful play, visitors can expect an updated look, refreshed exhibits, and even more ways for families to explore, imagine, and learn together.

A Playful Makeover for Millie and Moe

Two of Evansville’s most recognizable friends are getting a glow-up! cMoe’s iconic mascots — Millie the Duck and Moe the Dino — have been reimagined with vibrant new designs that reflect the museum’s joyful spirit and forward-thinking vision. The refreshed characters will make appearances throughout the museum, bringing even more fun to special events, storytimes, and family activities.

New Exhibits that Ignite Imagination

The next generation of cMoe exhibits invites kids to move, think, and create in exciting new ways. Families will discover new interactive play spaces focused on movement, art, and innovation — from collaborative art zones and creative construction areas to active exhibits that encourage physical play and teamwork. These additions expand on cMoe’s mission to inspire learning through hands-on exploration and open-ended discovery.

Play, Connection, and Community

As a proud member of the Association of Children’s Museums and the global Our World: Worldwide Day of Play network with Nickelodeon, cMoe continues to champion the importance of play as a tool for growth and wellbeing. “At cMoe, we believe play is the gateway to learning,” said Erica Schmidt, Executive Director of cMoe. “Our new exhibits and programming reflect that belief — creating spaces where kids can move, create, think, and dream.”

This “Birthday Era” marks more than a milestone — it’s a new beginning. Visitors can expect continued updates throughout the year, including expanded art programming, fresh exhibit features, and new ways for members to engage with the museum.

Evansville’s museum of play is growing up — and the future is brighter, bolder, and more imaginative than ever.
