June is National Great Outdoors Month — and Evansville Delivers

When summer arrives, so does the perfect excuse to unplug and step outside. June marks National Great Outdoors Month, a nationwide celebration of parks, trails, and public lands that invites everyone to reconnect with nature. While national parks get plenty of attention this time of year, there’s a world of outdoor adventure waiting right here in Evansville’s own backyard.

Start with a hidden natural wonder tucked into the heart of the city — Howell Wetlands. Next, make your way to Burdette Park, a summertime staple offering wooded trails, rolling hills, and a wide range of recreational amenities. Whether it’s hiking, picnicking, or spending the day at the aquatic center, Burdette offers something for every pace and interest.
