5K on the Runway Returns: A Celebration of Community and History
The 5K on the Runway is back on Saturday, May 3, 2025, offering participants a rare opportunity to run or walk along Evansville Regional Airport’s runways, taxiways, and ramps while supporting a meaningful cause. Hosted by Evansville Regional Airport (EVV) and presented by the Evansville Wartime Museum, this unique event combines fitness, history, and community spirit.
A Race with a Purpose
The 5K on the Runway isn't just about fitness; it’s about honoring Evansville’s aviation legacy. Proceeds from the event benefit the P-47 Foundation and help preserve the Evansville-built P-47 Thunderbolt "Hoosier Spirit II," now housed at the Evansville Wartime Museum. The Foundation’s mission is to protect this historic aircraft and educate future generations about the sacrifices made in the name of freedom.
